  • Start Date: 02 June 2011
  • End Date: 30 September 2013
  • Location: Craigavon and the SEED Council Area

Creative Edge is an exciting new project, designed to ensure creative goods and services are commercialised, and that sustainable business models are developed within creative industries.  The initiative is across various regions in Northern Europe and is designed to assist the growth of local businesses in the creative economy and help emerging talent become involved.  In Northern Ireland it applies to all creative people and creative sector businesses in Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon and Newry & Mourne council areas.

Like Creative Edge on Facebook http://facebook.com/eucreative and our Twitter channel is now live at https://twitter.com/eucreative.

Craigavon Borough Council will take the lead role in the project for these Council areas; known as the South East Economic Development (SEED) Group of Councils. Other partner groups are from Galway, Sweden and Finland.  Craigavon for the SEED group will lead on the development of Creative Spaces throughout the Council regions to enable Creative Industries to access unused or unoccupied spaces.  This will assist local growth, export growth and the engagement of emerging talent with both creative and traditional industry.

The project involves five work packages with five European partners.  One of the work packages involves a project called Creative Steps where creative students form an international multi – disciplinary team carry out work assignments for companies across the partner regions.  We are looking for local companies from all business sectors to put forward assignments which will benefit from the problem solving skills of creative students.

Charlotte Quinn has been appointed Creative Edge project officer for the delivery of the project over the SEED area.  To register your interest please complete the attached form and return to Charlotte Quinn at charlotte.quinn@craigavon.gov.uk
